According to the elders of this village, mat craft appeared in An Xa village for about 600 years ago. Today, it has affirmed its tradename in the market. Many local people is familiar with the singing "An Xa mat, Quy Hau conical hat".

Using raw materials on the spot, like sedge, and the delicate knitting frame, the artists of An Xa make floral sedge mats in all sizes, with beautiful designs to meet the demands of the markets throughout the province and the country.

An Xa sedge mat is much thicker, better, and softer than ones made in other places. In the hot summer, lying on a An Xa mat makes you feel cool, and in the winter you will feel warm with the pure fragrance of sedge.

Currently, An Xa has 107 households with 1.780 people, of which there are 83 households making mat with a total income of about VND1.6 billion a year.
