Quang Thuan now has about 1,451 households with 6,446 persons, of which there are 4,063 people making conical hat, making up 2/3 of its total laborers.

The conical hats often consist of 16 or 18 brims. Leaves to make conical hat are used to buy in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) or Quang Ngai.

According to the elders of this village, conical hat making has been a traditional trade in Quang Thuan for 400 years ago. At that time, Quang Thuan people only made some conical hats as sun and rain safe tool while working in the fields or going fishing.

Up to now, Quang Thuan conical hat has become a famous product of the locality, contributing to making this land to become more prosperous.

Unlike hats made in some other areas, Quang Thuan conical hats are attractive, delicate and durable thank to the makers’ excellent skills.
